The lighter was broken
the safety lock twisted and lost
it bounced back and forth
from one palm to the other,
sparks
and a light in a house blew out, a miracle extinguished
and set a-beautiful-blaze
it clamped shut, but the lion still roamed free
the carpet curling in the heat,
the walls melting and vomiting on themselves
and the screams of pedestrians unheard by the bedposts
sparks
and All Fell Down
with these sparks thunder flees
and the clouds crowd in innocent awe
raise a broken lighter to heaven
and it becomes a torch to olympus
